Our University

Case Western Reserve University is a diverse academic center on the East Side of Cleveland. Our academic departments range from a highly ranked engineering program to our smaller and more intimate liberal arts programs. We are affiliated with the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Institute of Art, and CWRU students have access to the resources of both schools. We further the well-rounded college experience by aiding students with internships, co-ops, and study abroad.

The campus is located in the heart of University Circle, a region composed of parts of Cleveland and nearby suburbs. The Cleveland Museums of Art and Natural History are a brief walk from the North Campus Residence halls, and nearby Little Italy provides fine dining, annual street fairs, and late night runs for Presti's donuts. A thirty-minute train ride on Cleveland's RTA opens up the numerous attractions downtown: sporting events at Gund Arena, Jacobs Field, and Browns Stadium; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Tower City shopping center, and clubs at the Flats.

Under our campus master plan, the university has undergone an image transformation in recent years. In the fall of 2005, a brand new complex consisting of baseball and softball diamonds, a football stadium, track, parking garage and apartments for upper-classmen was opened. In addition, the Baker building on the main quad was demolished and replaced by an aesthetic walkway, allowing for a more scenic view of the Case quad and Severance Hall.

For prospective students interested in learning more about us, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers campus tours and meetings with admissions counselors and professors. We highly recommend that interested students spend a night on campus with one of our Student Ambassadors to get a firsthand feel for the students and social life here. Admissions can be contacted by e-mail at admission@po.cwru.edu or by phone at 216-368-4450, or visit the Case Western Reserve homepage at www.case.edu.
