Phi Tau Brothers Participate in Cultural Show

Five Phi Taus participated in last weekend's Indian Students Association cultural show

To many in the audience, it just did not seem possible that two caucasians and one pseudo-caucasian were actually participating in the ISA show on Saturday, November 7th. However, that was the plain truth. Along with true brownies Manoj Nair and Shardule Shah, Todd Jacobs, Mick Crawford, and Nikhil Huprikar were active participants in the show.
Nikhil, Shardule, and Todd participated in the fashion show, which had them dress up as Indian men would during various decades. Each decade was a different group in the fashion show. Along with the dressing up, there was a small dance routine associated with each group. Nikhil actually convinced people he was Indian while Todd somehow made his comfortable on stage despite being surrounded by dozens of smelly (a slight scent of curry that is) Indians.
Shardule, Mick, and Manoj sang as part of the Indian-based acapella group, Dhamakapella. Manoj wowed the ladies with his solo during Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" while Mick Crawford displayed his fine bass and beat-boxing abilities throughout the set. Shardule essentially acted as a pitch pipe throughout the various rehearsals.
Manoj co-wrote and took part in the Hindu Students Association skit, which was written in two parts, "Shiva and Sati" and "Shiva and Parvati."
The show was preceded by a sumptuous Indian buffet dinner.
The five of us wish to thank all of the brothers and other friends who came out to support us. It is really a joy to be able to share with you our culture. (Well, for Todd and Mick, a joy to share what they learned of Indian culture).
