Phi Tau Claims Two Awards

Feb. 22, 2007 -

Periodically, the judicial board of Case IFC accepts nominations for the Creed and Values Award. This award is an opportunity for the Greek Life community at Case Western Reserve University to recognize those individuals and chapters that have demonstrated their creed and the values contained in it through their deeds and words.

This past evening at the bi-weekly IFC meeting the winners for the Creed and Values Award were announced. Phi Tau brought home two awards, that for exemplary individual (Michael McAlister, Lambda class) and outstanding chapter.

Michael McAlister was nominated and selected to receive the award because of the recent life changing events that he has encountered. In early October 2006, he was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic. In December he received a donor heart and underwent surgery successfully. Throughout the past few months, Michael has been the embodiment of perseverance, positivity, courage, and dedication. He has been an inspiration to everyone in our chapter and that is why he has won this award. We congratulate Michael for his courage and wish him a blessed and speedy period of rehabilitation.

Phi Kappa Tau was selected as the outstanding chapter for our commitment to inter fraternal bonds. Recently, Phi Taus have been active with the Beta Theta Pi fraternity engaging in friendly and brotherhood building competitions.

It is with great honor and thanks that we, as a chapter, receive this award! Let this be a challenge and reminder to all Phi Taus to continue to maintain the highest ideals and strive every day to "discharge the obligation to others" because we are fraternity men.

Congratulations again to Michael for his nomination and selection for the Creed and Values Award!

Hoorah!
