This past weekend Case Western Reserve University hosted the 2008 UAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.  Juniors Dominic Smith and Michael Petro participated in this meet against the best competition in the conference.  Dominic took first place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:47.56, which is a provisional qualifying time for the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship next weekend at Ohio Northern University.  Dominic also finished in third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:40.66.  Michael Petro finished in seventh place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:15.58.  The efforts of both of these runners helped the Case men's team to finish fifth out seven teams with 51 points.  Congratulations to Dominic and Michael for their excellent races, and good luck to them and Adam Goodrich, Michael Grese, and David Carter as they move into the outdoor track season.
